Calculation of oil consumption and filling volume of bearings

Rolling bearings, as an important component of mechanical parts, mainly function to support and position, reduce friction and energy consumption. Lubrication is a crucial medium that directly determines the reduction of friction and energy consumption in bearings. This requires that bearings must be lubricated reasonably and effectively to ensure their normal operation. However, in actual use, improper use of lubricating oil often leads to the failure of bearing operation. The following are the calculated values of oil consumption compiled by the editor for your reference:

The formula (empirical formula) is: Q=C×D×B

In the formula:

Q - The fuel consumption required for a single bearing, in ml/h

C - coefficient. For oil-gas lubrication, C=0.00003 to 0.00005;

For oil mist lubrication, C=0.0005;

For grease lubrication, C=0.003-0.005;

D - Bearing outer diameter, mm

B - Bearing row width, mm

Note: Applicable to working conditions with linear speeds ranging from 300m/s to 700m/s.

Calculation of filling amount

V=W×K

In the formula:

V - Free space inside the bearing

W - Bearing Weight (Kg)

K - Coefficient of free space inside the bearing

The filling amount of grease follows the following conditions:

The limiting speed (r/min) of ng - bearing grease lubrication (Bearing reference book query)

n - The actual working speed of the bearing (r/min)

When ng/n < 1.25, the amount of grease filled accounts for 1/3 of the free space inside the bearing.

When 1.25 < ng/n < 5, the amount of grease filled accounts for 1/3 to 2/3 of the free space inside the bearing.

When ng/n > 5, the amount of grease filled occupies more than two-thirds of the free space inside the bearing:
