In recent years, the production of the precision bar line of the Rolling Division of Shougang Tonghua Steel has been plagued by frequent faults of the rolling mill bearings, which has seriously affected the production efficiency and become a chronic problem restricting the production process.
Facing this long-standing and difficult problem, the steel Rolling Division has risen to the challenge. By integrating the "One Leadership and Two Integrations" mass-themed practical activities, it has deeply explored the potential of its employees and launched the "Rolling Mill Zero Research Bearing" breakthrough competition this year.
To solve the technical problems, the steel rolling division formed a research team composed of professional technicians and front-line workers. They went deep into the production line, closely monitored every detail, and based on data and facts, investigated the causes of the faults in the rolling mill bearings one by one. After meticulous comparative analysis, the research team found that poor sealing effect, insufficient air pressure, too small gap of the distributor and unreasonable oil circuit design were the main culprits causing frequent failures of the rolling mill bearings. Facing these technical challenges, the research team rose to the occasion and overcame them one by one:
The first is to optimize the sealing effect. After consulting materials and conducting comparative analysis, the research team finally chose fluorine rubber sealing rings to replace the original nitrile rubber sealing rings. Although fluorine rubber material is slightly more expensive, it has better flexibility, longer service life and superior sealing effect. The overall cost performance far exceeds that of nitrile rubber material. This improvement not only effectively solves the sealing problem of the rolling mill bearings, but also provides a strong guarantee for the long-term stable operation of the bearings.
The second is to steadily increase the wind pressure. In response to the issue of insufficient air pressure in the rolling mill bearings, the research team started from the source, organized a full-staff inspection activity in the maintenance operation area, increased the frequency of oil and gas inspections, and set new inspection standards. Meanwhile, by taking advantage of the process time such as changing grooves and rollers, strengthen the inspection of the parts that are difficult to be inspected to ensure the stability of air pressure and the normal operation of oil and gas. In addition, the technicians of the steel rolling division ingeniously utilized compressed air to purge the oil and gas pipelines, ensuring their unobstructed flow.
The third is to transform the structure of the distributor. The small gap of the distributor, which led to the blockage of the oil passage, was once a major problem for this research team. Frequent replacement of the clogged distributor not only incurs high costs but also fails to fundamentally solve the problem. For this purpose, the research team disassembled and analyzed the distributor and decided to optimize its internal structure. In addition, the research team added a filter screen at the front end of the distributor, effectively reducing the clogging caused by grease, lowering the frequency of spare parts replacement, and saving spare parts costs.
The fourth is to optimize the oil circuit system. Due to the unreasonable design of the crude oil passage, the research team fully leveraged their technical advantages, dared to innovate and practice, redesigned the position of the oil passage, and entrusted a mechanical and electrical repair and manufacturing company to process and manufacture it. During the assembly process, the research team strictly operated in accordance with the standards for roll assembly work to ensure that every link was precise and error-free. The optimized oil circuit design makes the positions of the fuel injectors on both sides of the middle bearing more reasonable, achieving a fully lubricated effect.Through the implementation of the "zero-ground bearing for Rolling Mills" research and development campaign on the fine bar Line, the issue of rolling mill grinding shafts in this steel rolling division has decreased by 73%, and it is estimated that nearly 80,000 yuan in material costs can be saved annually. The research and development team of the steel Rolling Division has put into practice the concept of "One leadership and two integrations" with concrete actions, demonstrating the spirit of steel workers in overcoming difficulties and being courageous in innovation, and injecting new vitality into the stable and smooth operation of steel rolling production at Shougang Tonghua Steel.
