Antecedent

Bearing is an important part of mechanical equipment, the main function is to support the rotating body, reduce the friction coefficient in the process of movement, bearing is mainly composed of inner ring, outer ring, rolling body and cage four large components, the main role of cage is to evenly separate the rolling body, guide the rolling body to move on the correct track, cage belongs to passive force, However, if it is subjected to abnormal torque load, the alternating load is easy to cause friction consumption or deformation. Then it develops to burn and lock and other malignant failures.



Bearing structure and performance

At present, double-row tapered roller bearing is a typical TDO structure, that is, it is composed of two inner ring components, a middle ring and an outer ring. The bearing can withstand axial loads in two directions. The rolling body is in linear contact with the channel of the inner and outer ring, and it has certain radial and axial load capabilities, but not as good as the aligning performance. Will cause bearing uneven force, performance decline.

Bearing damage characteristics

It is mainly cage wear, which leads to locking. The characteristics are as follows:

1. Single column of positioning bearings is damaged, and most of them are concentrated in the outer column.

2. In addition to the cage damage in the outer column, the big end face of the rolling body and the inner ring retaining edge are seriously worn, and there are rolling sinking steps and high temperature phenomena.

3.the inner row of rolling body normal wear, bright surface, no high temperature and rolling step problems.

4.the rolling body corresponding to cage hole wear, rolling deformation, high temperature crack.

Cause analysis

From the above damage characteristics analysis, it is concluded that: When the rolling mill is running at high speed, there is a large abnormal axial load. The axial load acts on the outer row of rolling body, leading to serious sliding friction between the end face of rolling body and the guard edge, causing high temperature and oil shortage. At the same time, the ball base surface of the end face of rolling body and the rolling body wear and damage, and the rotating track of rolling body skew, which leads to the unstable operation of the cage and the periodic shear force. Causes the above 3 phenomena, leading to cage damage, cage damage directly leads to bearing lock burning.



Recommended adjustment measures

1. Ensure that the eccentricity of the center line of the main bearing box hole and the positioning bearing hole meets the requirements of the drawings to avoid the deviation of the center line of the main bearing and the positioning bearing and the wear of the cage caused by rotation;

2, increase the lubrication of positioning bearing;

3. Adjust the compression degree of the outer ring, first measure the distance between the gland end face and the positioning bearing end face before installation, determine the thickness of the gasket, and ensure that there is 0.05-0.10mm gap between the gland locking and the positioning bearing end face after installation;

4. Customized thickened cage to improve the strength and deformation resistance of cage.
