Storage, installation, operation and maintenance of the 20-roll rolling mill roll system

I. Storage

New roller systems or backing bearings should be stored in boxes without damaging the inner packaging.

2. The bearings of the recycled roller system should be thoroughly cleaned, coated with anti-rust oil, and then packaged and stored.

3. The warehouse should be dry and dust-free, and must not be damp.

Ii. Disassembly

The disassembly site is clean and dust-free.

2. Remove the shaft end cover and take off the spacer sleeve or gear, saddle, key, bearing and other components in sequence. Do not remove the last gear or retaining ring. Arrange them in sequence for easy installation.

3. The outer diameter end faces of the bearings are numbered. When disassembling, they must not be mixed. Special attention should be paid to the rolling elements, as the middle row is the long roller.

Iii. Installation

Before installation, the group of bearings should be cleaned to remove all oil stains, dust and impurities.

2. When installation is difficult and knocking is needed, a copper hammer should be used for gentle tapping instead of heavy hammering with an iron tool.

3. Remove burrs and foreign objects from the shaft, saddle or roller box and other related parts. Use a high-pressure air duct to blow out impurities in the oil holes and check whether each oil hole is unobstructed. Check the thickness of the bakelite thrust plate. Replace it in time if it is too thin.

4. The saddles and bearings in the same group should be installed in sequence with numbers. The sequence numbers must not be confused. The first letter of the saddle number should face the transmission side to avoid affecting the force condition. Pay attention to the position of the arrow on the end face of the inner ring of the bearing.

5. When restarting the machine, the inner ring of the bearing should be rotated 90 degrees in the same direction to avoid the load area used last time, which is conducive to extending the service life of the inner ring.

After the bearings are installed, rotate each set of bearings by hand to check if the rotation is flexible and stable. There should be no jamming or other phenomena. If not, disassemble them to check the cause of the fault.

7. Before installation, check whether the surface of the plum blossom holes is smooth.

Iv. Use of the Roller System

When starting up for operation, the lubrication system should be activated first and let it idle for several minutes.

2. The lubricating oil must be clean and sufficient, and the flow rate and velocity must meet the designed indicators of the rolling mill.

3. After one cycle (about 25 days) of use of the roller system, the bearings should be taken off the machine for cleaning and inspection. Any abnormalities found should be dealt with promptly.

4. When special situations such as belt breakage and sticking occur frequently, the replacement time of the roller system should be shortened, and it is necessary to check whether the saddle bearing is damaged.

5. The rolling process is reasonable, avoiding rough handling.

V. Maintenance of the Roller System

The support roller system must be managed by a designated person and a ledger should be established. Record which set of saddles, which set of bearings, the on-machine time, the off-machine time, etc. on which rolling mill.

2. The roller system must be taken off the machine at regular intervals, regardless of whether there are any problems or not.

3. After disassembling the machine, inspect each component of the roller system one by one. Deal with any problems found promptly.

4. The backing bearing, after being taken off the machine for maintenance, must be left for one cycle before being put back on the machine for continued use. Under certain conditions, after the bearings are taken off the machine or ground, they should be placed in oil at 80°-100° C for 24 hours to release stress.

After the bearing has been in use for a period of time, some defects such as pits and indentations may appear on the outer diameter. At this point, the outer diameter should be ground in time. After grinding, it needs to be inspected and reassembled before it can be used again. The amount of bearing grinding should be determined based on specific circumstances. The grinding should mainly focus on ensuring the T-value and radial jump requirements of the same group.

Specialized instruments for measuring the T-value of bearing section height.

6. During the installation, disassembly, cleaning and maintenance of bearings, it is not allowed to mix sets or groups. Different bearing components are not allowed to be mixed at will. The saddles are not allowed to be used in mixed groups.

7. If a damaged bearing is found in a group of bearings, it is not allowed to randomly replace it with another one for use. The matching group should be inspected, and the cross-sectional height of the same group should be less than 0.005mm, with a convex distribution.

8. Avoid using magnetic hoisting to move the roller system.

9. For ABCD rollers, new or intact bearings should be used as much as possible. Defective bearings should be used for EFGH rollers.
